Did the Bible predict that ‘God created the big bang’?

IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH.
AND THE EARTH WAS WITHOUT FORM AND VOID;
AND GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT: AND THERE WAS LIGHT.

I never thought about it ever before. But it was a reply to a comment from Brother Michael B below, and there in front of me in black and white –

Humans are not from primates, monkeys, etc. If so we humans would be walking across roads naked. there’s a creation for everything, such as a pepsi can, there’s a creator its the pepsi plants. there’s a maker of computers. thus a maker for Humanity, it sure wasn’t a big bang, consisting of a temperature twice the heat of the sun.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void…. God said, Let there be light!”

If it wasnt a big bang then when was the world created. Creationists think it happened between 6000 – 10,000 years ago.

We would be interested to find your thoughts?

  1. Firstly, there are at least two camps of creationists. It would not be proper to lump all creationists in with young earth creationists. Representing both sides would be answers in genesis for YEC, and reasons to believe for OEC (old earth creationists). Second, your title is a bit improperly worded, since the bible was written after the big bang it would not be predicting it but rather reporting it, (sorry I tend to nitpick, please dont take offense).

    But I’m not sure what it is you’re asking, could you clarify a bit?

    Thanks for the feedback and you are correct the title is wrong. As it is obvious the Bible was written after the big bang.

    I would be interested to find out the view of Old Earth Creationists. (OEC)

    The point im making is it seems to make perfect sense that God created the big bang.

    If this was proved correct would scientists then have to believe in God? For the last 100 years they have been proving through Science that the Bible was historically incorrect in terms of the creation of the earth.

    What happens if it is science that proves God exists?

    Look forward to your thoughts and feedback.

    • for the oec view, and a very good foundation, go to reasons.org

      additionally, once it was confirmed that the big bang was in fact the begining of space, time, and matter, confirmed by the cosmic background radiation, einsteins (sp?) theory of general relativity, other scientific discoveries and the fact that an eternal universe is philosophically impossible many scientists did and have done everything possible to avoid the big bang precisly because of the implications.
